About

Sex, Gender, Sexuality and Orientation play an important role in the formation of our identity. But with all the information and perspectives available, understanding these concepts can become quite the challenge. This interactive crashcourse will be conducted by our resident expert, Dr Pragati Singh who is a renowned Public Health Professional, Global Asexuality Thought Leader and Founder & Director of Indian Aces.

Pragati will take you through the basics of the gender and sexuality spectrums, including, but not restricted to the LGBTQIA++ alphabet soup through discussions, debates, games, and activities, in a completely safe space, with no right and wrong.

This course is perfect for lay persons, educators, counsellors, teachers, parents and everyone who is looking for ways to understand their own experience, and that of others, better. Digital certificates will be provided to all participants.

And after the workshop, join us for the OFFICIAL OPENING PARTY for the PanACEa:Asia Asexuality Conference!

About the Facilitator:

Dr Pragati Singh, founder and director of Indian Aces, has been recognized at many national and international fora, including the BBC, that honoured her as one of the world's 100 most inspiring, innovative, and influential women and included her name in the BBC 100 women list for 2019!

Her journey towards bridging the gap between science, sexuality, and sexual rights began in 2014 with the creation of the Facebook Page for Indian Aces. Today, her work has grown far beyond, to include work on gender, positive masculinity, sexuality, non-sexuality, Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) Act, diversity and inclusion, and equality, equity, and justice.

Within these fields, she enjoys both academic and non-academic work, ranging from research studies on sexuality and presenting them at conferences, to developing novel models and theories based on the same, to organizing rigorous training and workshops, to holding some rather unique meetups!
